American Carbide Tool Carbide-Tipped Tool Bit for Threading, Neutral, C6 Grade, 0.5" Square Shank, E 8 Size

Model: E-8 C6   |    Mpn: E 8 C6   |    Ean: 0726761533846   |    PartNumber: E 8 C6   |   Asin: B00365FF1A

The American Carbide Tool E-style C6 grade carbide-tipped brazed tool bit has a neutral cutting direction and a sharp tip with a 60-degree angle for fine threading on steel and steel alloys. The E-style tool shape has a tip with a 60-degree angle ground to a sharp point for fine threading. It can also be used for chamfering, notching, and undercutting. The tool has a positive, 3-degree rake angle that provides a sharp edge for making continuous cuts and a neutral cutting direction for right-to-left or left-to-right feed. The tool has a C6 grade uncoated carbide tip, which provides good resistance to shock and wear for machining on steel and steel alloys. Carbide is harder than high-speed or cobalt steel, making it more wear resistant at high speeds and providing longer tool life. The tip is brazed to a square steel shank that fits square toolholders.

Brazed tools, often called single-point brazed carbide-tipped tools, are used for metal shaping on lathes or screw machines. These single-point tools have a cutting edge at one end that is a carbide tip brazed to a steel shaft. They come in multiple geometry styles for cutting different shapes and are identified by a lettering standard that conforms to American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B212.1 specifications. The tool has a side cutting edge and end cutting edge, with the tool shape style defining which cutting edge is principal and auxiliary. Brazed tools are available in three hand options: right, left, and neutral. A right-hand tool has its principal cutting edge on the right side of the tool to feed into the workpiece from right to left, a left-hand tool feeds into the workpiece from left to right, and a neutral-hand tool will cut either left to right or right to left. The side cutting and end cutting edge angles, in combination with the angle at which the tool is positioned in relation to the workpiece (also called the lead angle), influence the tool's cutting shape and action. Rake angles are the degree of inclination of the face toward or away from the cutting edge. They may be positive for sharp, continuous cuts, negative for heavy, interrupted cuts, or neutral for a true 90-degree cut. The tip, or nose, of the tool performs the finish cut on the workpiece. In general, a larger tip radius will produce a better surface finish and permit a faster feed rate than a smaller tip radius.

American Carbide Tool manufactures standard single-point brazed carbide-tipped tools, and precision ground cutting tools and inserts. The company, founded in 1953, is headquartered in Canton, OH.

American Carbide Tool Carbide-Tipped Tool Bit for Straight Turning, Right Hand, K21 Grade, 0.5" Square Shank, AR 8 Size

The American Carbide Tool AR-style K21 grade carbide-tipped brazed tool bit has a right-hand cutting direction and a 0-degree side cutting angle for general-purpose straight turning, facing, or boring to a square shoulder on steel and steel alloys. The AR-style tool shape has a 0-degree side cutting angle for square shoulder cuts and a right-hand cutting direction for right-to-left feed. The tool has a positive, 6-degree rake angle that provides a sharp edge for making continuous cuts. The tool has a Kennametal K21 grade uncoated carbide tip, which provides good resistance to shock and wear for general-purpose machining on steel and steel alloys.

American Carbide Tool Carbide-Tipped Pointed Nose Lathe Tool Bit, D Style, Neutral Hand, C5 Grade, 0.375" Square Shank, D 6 Size

Model: D-6 C5   |    Mpn: D 6 C5   |    Ean: 0726761530753   |    PartNumber: D 6 C5   |   Asin: B00365FDTY

The American Carbide Tool carbide-tipped pointed nose lathe tool bit has a D style with a neutral-hand cutting direction and a C5 grade for light turning, undercutting, chamfering, and boring applications on soft steel and steel alloys. The D style, also called pointed nose, tool shape has an 80-degree included angle and provides a neutral-hand cutting direction for right-to-left or left-to-right feed. The tool tip is made of C5 grade uncoated carbide for good resistance to shock and wear and is brazed onto a steel shank for strength. The square shank fits square toolholders.

Brazed tools, also called carbide-tipped lathe tool bits and single-point brazed carbide-tipped tools, are used for metal shaping on lathes. These single-point tools have a cutting edge at one end that is a carbide tip brazed to a steel shaft. They come in multiple geometry styles for different cutting applications and are identified by a lettering standard that conforms to American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B212.1 specifications. The side cutting and end cutting edge angles, in combination with the angle at which the tool is positioned in relation to the workpiece (also called the lead angle), help determine the tool's cutting shape and action.

American Carbide Tool manufactures standard single-point brazed carbide-tipped tools, and precision ground cutting tools and inserts. The company, founded in 1953, is headquartered in Canton, OH.

Features

  • D style carbide-tipped lathe tool bit has a pointed tip with an 80-degree included angle for light turning, undercutting, chamfering, and boring
  • Neutral handed for right-to-left or left-to-right feed
  • C5 grade uncoated carbide tip provides good resistance to shock and wear for use on soft steel and steel alloys
  • Tip is brazed onto steel shank for strength
