- If you own a table saw and you need to make a crosscut at any angle then you know how valuable a miter gauge can be. You may also know that the miter gauge that came with your saw is not terribly accurate or durable. Not to mention that the fit in the miter slot may not be all that great as well. The Fulton Miter Gauge is a high quality, well thought out and economical solution to your table saw cross cutting needs.
- The .200 thick, adjustable, solid aluminum head is machined with 13 positive stop holes. 1 hole is at 90 degrees while the 6 holes on both sides are at 22.5, 30, 45, 60, 67.5 and 90 degrees. The positive stops are perfect for many woodworking projects as they are the angles that are typically used.
- To adjust the head you simply loosen the post knob handle, pull the spring loaded indexing pin outward, rotate the head to the desired position, release the pin and lock into place by tightening the post knob handle. The aluminum head has two x slots milled into it for mounting a miter fence if so desired. The slots are approximately 1-1/8 from the base of the miter gauge head.
- The head is mounted to a solid steel miter bar that measure 18 in length and is .354 thick by .730 wide. - This is a uniquely designed uni-body, L-style aluminum fence that is completely adjustable to achieve squareness to your table top and drill bit. It not only makes drilling straight holes easier, it makes drilling taller, longer stock much more accurate. To adjust the fence, you simply rotate the pre-installed set screws inside the fence or the ones on the back side of the fence until you are square. We recommend using a machinist square to accurately do this (square not included).
- The fence system also includes a flip stop for repetitive drilling. The flip stop can be completely removed from the fence or it can be positioned up and out of the way when not in use. The stop works in conjunction with the center finder tape on the fence. The reason for the center finder tape is so you can accurately measure distance starting from the drill bit and work your way out from center. This method of measuring on the drill press comes in very handy on many drill press applications.
- The fence is secured to your table top using two sets of x 20 knob and t-bolts. The knobs can be loosened for quick adjustments to the positioning of the fence. Once in place, simply tighten the knobs to secure the fence into the needed position. The fence measures approximately 24 in length and is about 2 tall. It has a slightly recessed slot across the face of the fence for the PSA center finding tape measure to sit flush.
- The Aluminum Precision Adjustable Drill Press Fence is made from a solid piece of extruded aluminum for extra rigidity and durability. The fence has slotted holes on the back side to fit on to many different after market drill press table tops. The top side of the fence has a built-in track for adding any jig or fixture that uses t-bolts or hex head bolts.
- The fence can be used on multiple brands and styles of after market drill press tables. Be sure to measure your drill press tables dimensions before purchasing. The distance between each fence slot (inside to inside of each slot) is approximately 8-13/16 and approximately 9 3/8 on center. Make sure your mounting tracks properly align with these dimensions and that your tracks use x 20 t-bolts or hex head bolts. Each slot is approximately 5/16 wide and 1-7/16 long.
