It s used to achieve steady wine fermentations by compensating for deficiencies in nitrogen and micronutrients in the must (unfermented wine). It can also be a vital component in the brewing process for beer and mead.
- HOW IT WORKS - Fermaid O aids yeast in producing less heat during fermentation compared to nutrients containing DAP. This minimizes heat spikes, resulting in fewer negative sulfur compounds and off-flavors in the wine. Additionally, it enhances ripe fruit character while reducing dryness sensation on the palate.
- EFFICIENT YEAST NUTRIENT - Fermaid O is an updated version of Fermaid K, notable for its absence of more natural nitrogen such as Diammonium phosphate (DAP) or ammonia salts. The more natural nitrogen it provides makes it easier for wine yeast to digest, resulting in a more uniform fermentation process.
- SUGGESTED USAGE - Recommended dosage is 1.5 grams per gallon of wine. Best if added in 2 doses: half at the end of the lag phase, and the other half once the sugar content is depleted by 1 3 of original gravity, calculated with a hydrometer. Before adding the second dose to an active fermentation, mix with room temperature water to avoid excess CO2 release and overflow.
