- Install the top plates. The top plates are the components that secure your pole to the ceiling and floor. Attach the top plate to the ceiling, using the screws and a wrench or pliers. Make sure the plates are tight and flush with the surface.
- Assemble and test the pole. Now that you have mounted the top plates, it's time to connect the pole sections and lock them in place. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer, then put the bottom base on the ground, and tighten the pole extension. Once you have assembled the pole, give it a gentle shake and test its stability. If it wobbles or bends, you may need to adjust the screws or pole extensions.
